New articles – Calcium & Osteoporosis and Sodium Fluoride Bone Scans

Pacific Radiology regularly publishes articles about radiology, and these often highlight new or improved techniques in medical imaging. They are mainly directed to referring practitioners, but some articles will be of more general interest.

The latest articles are:

Many x-rays, ultrasounds and joint injections now FREE

GST goes up today, but prices at Pacific Radiology go down

At Pacific Radiology we are making our charges simpler for patients and referrers by removing the ACC and Community Radiology Scheme part charges for all scans and joint injections, and all x-rays under the Community Schemes. If you have a Community or High Use Health Card, all ACC x-rays are free as well – that means there is no charge to the patient to use our services.

As always, our ACC CT and MRI scans will remain free, and we can also accept your referral forms if you are waiting for an ACC scan at Wellington or Hutt Hospitals – a quick phone call to us and we can take care of the rest.

If you do not have a Community or High Use Health Card there is a flat $25 fee per ACC visit, regardless of how many x-rays are taken. “Our old fee structure was past its use by date, it was difficult to understand and confusing for our staff and patients alike, whereas the new system is easy to follow, predictable and also much cheaper for the patient,” says Dr Lance Lawler, Managing Partner of Pacific Radiology.

“As the largest provider of x-rays and scans in the region, we are always concerned about barriers to patients accessing imaging services, and we are delighted that recent investments and developments in our infrastructure have allowed us to completely rework our prices.”

Given our extensive imaging network and services offered, this is simply the best value radiology in New Zealand.

Change to Inteleviewer Server Address

This news article applies to medical professionals who have online access to Pacific Radiology’s PACS imaging system.

Pacific Radiology is making some changes its network to improve reliability. Because of this it will be necessary to change a setting within Inteleviewer, the software used for online access to our x-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs and other imaging.

The attached instructions describe how to change the Inteleviewer server address to https://viewer.pacificradiology.co.nz

This change has to be done on each PC that Inteleviewer is installed on. Some PCs may already have the correct setting.

Please complete this before the 31st of August 2009.

Contact the PACS Help Desk on 04-978-5585 if you require any assistance.
